Every solo engineer has a philosophy whether they admit it or not. Here's mine, plain.

The engineer should talk to the customer.

There's no faster way to build the wrong thing than to put a layer between the person writing the code and the person who'll actually use it. Every Lash Digital project is direct: you and me.

Production-grade is the only acceptable grade.

Authentication, monitoring, backups, rate limiting, security headers, error tracking — set up properly from day one. "We'll add it later" is how software ends up unsalvageable.

Documentation is part of the deliverable.

Every project ships with thorough internal docs so the next change, six months later, takes minutes instead of a week of archaeology.

Pick the boring stack.

Proven tools that'll still be supported in five years. Trendy frameworks usually won't.

Charge fair, deliver more.

Solo overhead is a fraction of agency overhead. That should show up in price and quality, not just in margin.
